Hello, I’m Michaela, PCN Pharmacy Technician for Meon Medical Centre. I joined the NHS at 18 and have held various different roles within the world of pharmacy. Starting in general practice, I moved into retail pharmacy and previous to this role I was a Senior Pharmacy Technician at Warwick Hospital. While working at Warwick I was also an Associate Lecturer at Birmingham Metropolitan College, training Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians. I began working for the PCN in June 2022 and my previous experience working on the wards, ensuring that patient medication histories were accurate and prescribed correctly has proved very useful. As part of my new role, I make sure that any medication changes that happen in hospital are transferred to a patient’s GP records. I’ve recently completed a 15 month course for clinical pharmacy staff working in Primary Care. It has been fascinating and I’m looking forward to applying my new skills and knowledge here at Meon. I work alongside Jas, our Clinical Pharmacist, reviewing repeat medication, monitoring high risk and shared care medication and checking any blood results to ensure your medicines are safe for you. I’m very happy to help with any queries you may have about your medications and also run telephone clinics for patients who are new to the Practice.
